Hotel information

Gysinge Herrgård has 66 rooms, totalling 129 beds. The rooms are located in the Manor Building, the Wing, 3 Villas and the Stables. We have single and double rooms divided into 3 different categories: Manor room, standard and economy so that you can choose your preferred room standard. In the park surrounding the Manor House you will find Orangeriet Restaurant (in the old conservatory), Café Udden (summer time), boules courts, an outdoor museum, nature center, hiking trails, a beach and barbecue area. 2.5 km from us is the main entrance to Färnebofjärden National Park. In Gysinge there is a hardware store, a clothing and interior design store and well-renowned Gysinge Center for building maintenance.

Gysinge bruk was established year 1688. The furnace was ready 1670 and the ironworks started 7 years later. Among many things, they made war equipment for the Swedish army. The first manor house was built in the 17th century, but in the early 1800s the manor house was pulled down to make place for a new more impressive building, which was finalised in 1840. The conservatory was built 1790 and today houses our restaurant. On the roof of the restaurant you can see the old belfry that was saved from the first mansion.

Gysinge bruk dilapidated during the 18th century, but thanks to Michael Benedicks and his sons the ironwork began to prosper again in the early 19th century, and it became one of the leading ironworks in Sweden. In the early 1900s Stora Kopparbergs Bergslags AB bought the works and phased out the production. After many years of decay, it was decided in 1969 to demolish Gysinge Bruk, but it was saved at the last minute by Anders Diös, who purchased the works for only SEK 100. During many years, PRO (the national organization of pensioners) ran a folk high school in the properties, and in January 2022, Jula Hotell AB took over and renovated the facility.

“What a wonderful 3 nights I had at Gysinge manor. The room was perfect with a big 🐕. It was clean, quiet and easy to take the dog late at night. Service was incredible. Very good knowledge, helpful, nice …. I recommend the hiking package. Got different size 🥗 every day. I’ll come there again.”

Dennis – 5/5

“Stayed for a wedding, in December. So we didn’t get to see much of the surrounding area. But according to rumors it will be great to walk around the area.

Nice rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff. The only… unusual thing was that they didn’t have a TV in the room. Nothing negative, but unusual and unexpected.”

Åke  – 4/5

“Nice rooms, comfortable beds and great lunch and breakfast, unfortunately no TV set.”
