On the countryside, a few kilometers outside the village of Gränna you find Västanå Castle. The castle was originally built app. 1590 and turned into the first castle hotel in Sweden 1948. The von Otter family has owned the estate for 9 generations since 1785.
Here you can enjoy beautiful surroundings, relaxing interiors, beautiful art, excellent food and good wines. All the rooms are individually decorated. Here you will find endless forests, lovely hiking paths as well as the typical red houses associated with the landscape of Småland.

Find Västanå Castle
Västanå is close the the E4 highway, 180 kilometers to Gothenburg, 280 kilometers to Stockholm and 325 kilometers ti Copenhagen. Use exit 103 (Gyllene Uttern) south of Gränna thereafter follow the signs to “Västanå Slott”.

“Between the E4 and an 18-hole golf course is this 16th-century manor house hotel. It takes 15 minutes to walk to the medieval town of Röttle, and it is 11 km to Brahehus.
Elegant rooms and suites in the main building with wifi and stylish décor with antique furniture and art. The rooms in the south wing have an old-fashioned, English style and folk style, while the annex has more modern furnishings and a TV.
The breakfast buffet is served in the Gustavian restaurant on the second floor overlooking Lake Vättern. This stylish restaurant’s menu features dishes made from local ingredients.“
