How to get there: You can opt to fly to Stockholm, rent a car there, go on your tour and then fly out of Stockholm again. Or drive your own car.

Day 1 of The Royal Tour

Nestled within the enchanting embrace of a 17th-century royal palace, Rosersbergs Castle Hotel emerges as a beacon of timeless elegance. Set against the scenic backdrop of an English park, it is delicately poised beside the tranquil waters of Lake Mälaren.

Step into a realm of refined luxury where history meets modern comfort. The rooms are located in the original palace buildings or a modern annex building and have either period furnishings or simple modern furniture. All include a private bathroom with shower, and some have views of the Rosersberg Palace grounds.

Day 2 – Unveiling the Majesty of Västanå Castle and Småland’s Serene Landscapes

Escape to the countryside just outside Gränna, famed for its ‘Polkagrisar’ candy, and discover Västanå Castle. Built around 1590 and converted into Sweden’s inaugural castle hotel in 1948, this historic estate has been in the von Otter family for nine generations, since 1785.

Relish in the serene ambiance surrounded by endless forests and picturesque hiking trails, characteristic of Småland’s landscape. Inside the castle, marvel at the relaxing interiors adorned with beautiful art and enjoy sumptuous meals paired with fine wines.

Day 3 – Discovering the Splendor of Läckö Castle

After immersing yourself in the medieval splendor of Läckö, take a one-hour drive to the vibrant city of Gothenburg. Here, you’ll discover a bustling metropolis brimming with cultural attractions, culinary delights, and scenic waterfronts, offering endless opportunities for exploration and adventure.

Day 4 to 6 – Collection of Palaces

For natural reasons, most palaces, castles and manors are largely concentrated around the areas surrounding the Royal Capital: Lake Mälaren, Uppland & Stockholm. Drive along the areas as you please, pick one of our hotels that tickles your imagination to stay at and spend some time in the Royal Capital to visit the homes of the Royal Family, including the palaces of Drottningholm, Haga and Stockholm.

Driving time from the previous night’s hotel: 3-5 hours. Driving time to Stockholm Arlanda Airport is 20-60 minutes
